I'm Mirembe Ferrister — here to help founders, startups, and organisations think clearly, move faster, and get meaningful work done. Remotely, reliably, and with genuine care for the work.
I'm a social worker making a deliberate career shift into virtual assistance, administration, business, and operations — particularly in remote environments. My path here has been untraditional, but it has been honest, and it has slowly and naturally led me to this work.
For the first few years of my career, I found myself repeatedly pulled into administrative, coordination, and operational roles — often unexpectedly, but work I genuinely enjoyed. Maintaining internal systems, documenting meetings, supporting communication across teams, coordinating shifting priorities, creating more organised ways of working — I found real satisfaction in being part of what helped things move.
There is something fulfilling about knowing your contribution brought clarity where things felt scattered — that you strengthened a workflow, improved communication, or built a structure that made accountability easier for a team managing multiple priorities at once. I realised I enjoyed being the person holding those moving pieces together. Today, I bring that instinct into VA work supported by tools like Notion, Asana, HubSpot, Google Workspace, and ClickUp — and I am actively growing my certification in these and more.
My background in social work taught me how to understand people, systems, vulnerability, and institutions. Operations is teaching me how to support them better. The two sit closer together than most people expect — and that intersection is exactly where I work best.
I understand the operational bandwidth that fast-moving teams carry. I know that good work often depends on someone keeping information moving — tracking deadlines, documenting meetings, organising systems, conducting research, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring important details do not fall through the cracks. I care deeply about doing this work well.
Take a look around — my experience, skills, and the work I've been doing are all here. I hope they give you a clear enough picture to want to reach out. I'd love to be part of what helps your team move.

Beyond the CV — the curiosity, the sports I live for, and what's playing while I build.
Reading a book, in the middle of a sewing or crochet project, writing something down, or watching sport. I genuinely love all of these things and they keep me sane. I'm also a new sports fan — I only really started watching in 2024, which honestly makes it so much more fun. Everything is still fresh and exciting. I went from barely knowing standings to genuinely caring about results, players, rivalries, and what's happening behind the scenes. No regrets whatsoever.
I'm drawn to how things get built — the strategy behind organisations, the economics of industries, the infrastructure that makes communities move. I'm actively working towards a stronger business and data science foundation because the future I want genuinely requires that fluency, and I find the learning exciting.
Once I started watching I couldn't stop. I follow Liverpool in the Premier League, the Celtics in the NBA, WNBA, F1 (Ferrari — obviously), MotoGP, and tennis. In tennis my favourites are Sabalenka, Serena Williams, and Naomi Osaka — three very different players but each one fascinating to watch for different reasons. I also think African sport is one of the most underleveraged stories of this decade, and I want to be part of how it gets told.
